[Android] Rooting you phone to get extra permission on you Android

1. What is Rooting?

Rooting is a process to hack you phone, the purpose is to retrieve the administrator permission on the android OS that remove by the manufacturer before the phone sell it to you!!

2. Why we want to Root our phone?

After we having the administrator permission on our phone, we are able(if we can) to:

a) modify the system files where we don’t like it,

b) remove those software provided by the manufacturer where we don’t use it

c) purchase the priced apps from the market, and backup the apps we purchased( you can share it to me too:;))

d) install custom rom

e) set apps default install location to sd card

f) basically unlimited possibility..

3. Is the rooting action will void the manufacturer’s warranty?

You have to understand the warranty terms and conditions, for HTC, get it here

4. Any software or driver needed in order to root our phone?

We need to prepare some software and you need a computer with Microsoft OS before we can start:

a) Android Modify USB driver

b) HTC device driver

c) Rooting pack, i-Bravo, ii-Liberty, iii-Buzz, these 3 phone share the same method, may add in other model in future

d) a computer with WinXp (recommanded), Vista or Win7

Download the files required and unzip it

5. How to start?

Warning = Root your phone at your own risk!!! If you fail, you phone may fail to turn ON!!!

a)- Uninstall HTC Sync software, disable any anti virus software in your computer(WinXp, Vista, Win7)

b)- Turn off your phone, press volumn down + power button to boot your phone into H-Boot mode

c)- Press power again to boot into Fast boot mode

d)- Connect your phone to your computer via usb cable, your computer should ask for a driver, point the location to Android Modify USB driver, wait till the installation finish, disconnect you phone from the usb cable.

e)- Turn On your phone, Enable USB debugging: "Menu", "Settings", "Applications", "Development", and put a check in "USB debugging".

f)- Connect your phone to computer again, if computer ask for a driver, point the location to HTC device driver, depend on you computer OS, wait until it finish.

g)- Run the reflash.exe from your rooting pack, the software will do the rest. Wait about 5minutes, you will see the software will prompt you a Done message, and congr8, your phone now is with the administration permission!

I try to make the above guide as simple possible, it is not a standard computer language, but if you have basic computer software and driver knowledge, you will understand it!
